Physical Therapy - 1 Hour Session

Our Treatment Philosophy

At Curate Care Physical Therapy, we believe meaningful progress comes from thoughtful, attentive care—not rushed or aggressive treatment. Every session is a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with the same physical therapist, allowing time to truly listen, assess, and respond to your body’s needs.

We prioritize gentle, effective techniques and progress at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive. Treatment is guided by your feedback, goals, and comfort, with the intention of building trust, confidence, and long-term movement health.

    . . . and more!

A Gentle Approach

  • Treatment techniques selected with intention—not force

  • Emphasis on comfort, safety, and patient feedback

  • Hands-on care that supports, rather than overwhelms, the nervous system

Manual Technique: About Fascial Counterstrain

I utilize many manual techniques into treatment plans, however I tend to use Fascial Counterstrain the most due to its gentle nature and efficacy.

What is Fascial Counterstain?

Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) is a gentle, hands-on manual therapy that releases painful, protective tissue spasms across all body systems (musculoskeletal, vascular, visceral, nervous) by finding specific "tender points" and passively positioning the body to shorten or compress the strained structure, relieving tension and resetting the nervous system, leading to improved blood flow, reduced inflammation, and pain relief, often with immediate results.

A unique diagnostic method called a “Cranial Scan” is utilized to gently palpate the skull’s bony landmarks and sutures to identify which of the body’s fascial systems (musculoskeletal, venous/lymphatic, arterial, neural, visceral) is dysfunctional and where treatment may be needed, acting as a "biofeedback" tool to pinpoint specific tender points and guide precise,  pain-free positional releases for lasting relief. It helps find the primary source of pain or dysfunction by correlating cranial areas with body systems, leading to highly effective, multi-system treatments for various conditions.

What is Fascia?

Fascia is the tissue that permeates, surrounds, connects and supports the musculature, tendons, ligaments, organs, vessels, nerves and bones in our bodies. In essence it’s the glue that holds us together. More importantly, it’s a contractile sensory organ that communicates with your central nervous system and reacts to everything you do.

Who Can Benefit from Fascial Counterstrain?

It can be used for the very acute traumas (sports injuries, ankle sprains, post-surgical, etc.) to the more chronic (low back pain, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, headaches, neuropathies, etc.). Its value is unmatched because it is so gentle and non-traumatic. The therapist is guided by what feels good to the patient and often dramatic changes can be made in the first session. These changes facilitate the healing processes for a faster and complete recovery.

The gentleness of Fascial Counterstrain makes it safe and effective for treating more sensitive patients with pain associated with excessive joint motion or hypermobility. Fascial Counterstrain allows your body the opportunity it needs to heal properly and more quickly return to doing the things you love.
